1) It does not make ANY sound at all.2) it blows the fine mist straight up and looks nice.3) The BEST THING is you can select ”warm mist” and indeed it comes out between 105 to 115/120 degrees F. This might seem ”hot” but when you put your hand directly over the mist, it is not hotter than like warm water temperature you might wash your hands with, no danger what so ever.4) What is really GREAT about this is in a regular size bedroom, it will bring up the humidity with warm humidity even in the coldest of winter nights and with very little or no additional heat, it can heat the room to about 64 degrees F, and this feels very comfortable and feels like no additional heat is needed.5) In heat mist mode, it is only using 60 watts of electricity so it is MUCH more convenient than turning on/off a portable heater, etc.One of the better things I have ever bought!6) Highly recommend.
