I’ll be honest- I love adjustable dumbbells, but the heavier they get, the more nervous I get. Why? I don’t know… I’m just afraid that somehow one (or all) of the weights will suddenly fall off and smash my foot to smithereens while I sucker punch myself from the sudden and unexpected loss of weight. That said, I put on my steel-toed boots and faced my fears to give this dumbbell a good and proper testing!First of all, it’s great! The grip is comfortable, and the mechanism for adjusting the weight is smooth as butter.Now, comfortable in the hand doesn’t quell my fears of falling weights, so I shifted it into low gear and began to test it over a large cushion (while still wearing my steel-toe shoes, of course.)I shook that weight around like it owed me money! I did my best impression of a rollercoaster and twisted and turned it in every which way. Nothing. So I upped the stakes a bit- click* click* Now we’re cookin’!I shook, twisted, and turned that dumbbell as hard as I could, and in the end, the only thing that broke… was me.I may have lost the battle, but the war was over, and I emerged from the sweaty mist with a new ally and a stronger handshake.It’s a great dumbbell, honestly.

Love the Innovation
I am absolutely loving these dumbbell, and this is definitely a quality set that will last several lifetimes.I’ve always wondered how the weights that are adjustable with unscrewing the individual plates worked, and now I know. Even if I am late the knowledge, I still find it to be wonderfully innovative, especially from the standpoint of space saving.I am fairly new to weightlifting, but it was recommended by my doctor recently, so I figured that the bare, 11lb dumbbell is as good a place to start as any. Switching out from one weight to another is as easy as throwing a dial.It’s nice to know that as my abilities build, my weights can be easily adjusted to accommodate the increase without mandatory financial investment.

These are awesome. They have a nice smooth finish and feel nice in your hand. To operate simply turn the handle. It clicks to the different weight and locks in. Just pull it up and the correct amount of weights are attached to the bar. The plastic base is sturdy and holds the weights without flexing.I wish I got the set of two. The two set has a red dial whereas the single weight I got has a black dial. I like the looks of the red better plus I wouldn’t have to switch arms while using it.
