Braun 96 series best Braun shaver ever
Expensive BUT best electric shave I’ve ever ever had and never thought it possible. Only Amazon has two choices and I really wanted the model that had the charging case included but hopefully more packages will be available soon. The one I got with the cleaning station and comfort head for pre shave and fabric case is expensive but if the battery lasts…my last one almost 10 years old still charges…it will be great! Definitely can recommend

Fantastic…
I had been using an Arc5 for years but now WFH and not shaving every day, I had switched to a rotary, which did a much better job at the longer hairs that I had, shaving maybe 2 or 3 times a week at most. Bu5, with the rotary, I just wasn’t getting a close enough shave, so I went back to the Arc5, but my wife kept noticing random hairs that it would miss and I’d have to go back over them later.Enter the new Braun 9 Pro+ with the new 96M head. It is fantastic. With the new head, its as close to the Arc5 as Braun has been and it does a much better job at picking up all the long hairs, so no more stray hairs that are noticed later, plus IMO it is more comfortable with less razor burn.As much as I liked the Arc5, the head was huge(one of the reasons I ignored the new Arc6) and was a bit difficult to work around my goatee. The Braun has a smaller head and is much easier to work around my goatee.One other shortcoming of the Arc5 was its cleaning base and its water based solution. No matter what I did, it would eventually develop an odor in the system(I’ve had the arc3 and 5) and the razor would not smell too good. The Braun base is quite good and uses an alcohol solution, which IMO does a much better job of leaving your razor clean and smelling good.I went with the model with the extra shaving head because A) I just don’t see myself taking the time to use the massaging head first, before the shave and B) the new 96M head is impossible to find in the states right now, so having that extra head, just in case, is good piece of mind and will save money later.Overall, IMO Braun is finally catching up to the Panasonic Arc. There are tradeoff with each but with the new head and how close it is to the closeness of the Arc and getting what I consider a more comfortable shave, this is a keeper for me.

Close shave, convenient cleaning, nice accessories, few tweaks would make it perfect
I have been a traditional shaver for years–I typically use a safety razor in the shower every day, but I’ve also used straight razors and cartridges over time. I tried an electric for a bit years back, but never felt like it did a good enough job to replace traditional shaving.I had the opportunity to try Braun’s top of the line current generation shaver, and I am very impressed. I am going to use it as a daily replacement for my traditional safety razor for the time being due to convenience and performance.Closeness of shave:4/5 – I’m comparing this against a traditional safety razor which is one blade, very simple and can give a very close cut. I don’t think the Braun is as close–but definitely a tradeoff as this is so effortless and quick in comparison and can be done dry or in the shower. The pivoting head is very natural and responsive. I have a neatly trimmed beard, so really only do cheeks (where this is 5/5) and neck (4/5). The neck does have some areas that never look quite as clean as with a traditional razor.Ease of use:5/5 – single button, simple display, integrated cleaning station/charger are all top notch. The cleaning station in particular is wonderful and the shaving head is extremely easy to pull off and brush out.Comfort/ergonomics:5/5 – Extremely comfortable to hold and use and the pivoting head is excellent and adjusting.Affordability:That’s all preference, but this is not accessible for many.Other:I love that this comes with a spare 96M head–that is compatible with other Series 9 shavers and is very close. This is a huge savings and, in theory, covers 3 years of shaving between that and the installed head. The travel case is simple but sturdy.I do appreciate the cleaning solution at least allowing for at home refills and not locking consumers into something that is so locked down as to only work with a purchase. There are a number of DIY refill tutorials online if paying for cleaning solution that is mostly rubbing alcohol irks you.Dislike:One of the main hits for not giving this 5 stars is the charging. This is a 2025 model and for it to use a proprietary charger rather than the ubiquitous USB C is a huge knock. Most electronics and shavers have switched over at this point, and for a flagship product to come out with a refresh and not use the USB C standard is a very poor design choice and not customer friendly.

I owned a series 7 for 15 years, time for an upgrade. This razor is great! Big improvement over my 7 which was a great shave. No razer burn. Closer, smoother and quieter than my 7. Don’t be afraid to spend the money you will have it for a long time.
