Beautiful Mat Bag
This mat bag is absolutely beautiful and of exceptional quality. I bring my mat with me 3-5 days a week on a 2-hour walking/public transit commute, and it has held up beautifully for 7 months- looks as good as the day I received it. I get many compliments on it. There is a pocket that fits a yoga block, but I often use this for other accessories (yoga strap, wallet, snack). There are two smaller pockets. I put my phone in one and my ear buds in the other. The fabric is very thick and sturdy. I never worry about my nice mat while it is in the bag. There is enough room inside that I can throw a towel in with my mat. The strap is very comfortable and puts the mat in a very comfortable position on my shoulder. It is no problem to carry the mat for 4 hours a day. Overall, this mat bag is fantastic. I would order it over and over again (but I don’t have to because it is STURDY). Very happy. It’s nice enough that I’d love to give it as a gift to a friend or family member who wanted one. Order it and you will not be disappointed.

Awesome bag, but there’s a reason it’s missing a star…
I started doing Bikram yoga recently and ended up wanting a way to easily carry my mat around. I started doing research over the following weeks and thought I had decided on getting a strap that you could wrap around the mat. However, while looking for those and continuing to do classes, I quickly realized that I wanted (needed?) something that allowed me to carry ALL of my “stuff” (mat, keys/wallet, towel, etc.). So I researched some more and came across two Gaiaim bags, including this one. I absolutely love it.. as other reviewers have said it is big enough to fit my 70+ inch mat and towel. The larger pouch on the front easily fits my wallet, keys, and phone (but not those things AND a water bottle – which is fine as both of my hands are free with this bag so I can certainly use one to carry a bottle). The material seems nice and durable. Now for why I held back on 1 star: 1) they definitely should have used a breakaway clasp for the front pouch instead of the loop de loop closure method. it’s really frustrating to have to go through the finger gymnastics whenever i need to get in there quickly. 2) they should have offered this particular bag (which has the nice big pouch in the front unlike the others) in other colors – or if they couldn’t do that, they could have at least made the one color offering one which would hide dirt much better. Mine is still fairly new, but I know dingier times are a-coming…and I realize it can be washed, but still. Granted, it could be that they DO offer this bag in other colors but I just didn’t see them (although I looked on both Amazon and Gaiam’s website – plus I Googled the name of this bag with no luck). But the bottom line: For the price and for what I needed, this bag really can’t be beat as far as what’s out there!

Yoga bag – great
Fits my yoga mat (Manuka x, 68 inches – and the bag would have no problem holder a longer mat) with no problems. The pockets are a good size – the large one holds my phone and car keys without problem, and the small one hold an extra hair tie and lip balm, easily. The pockets velcro closure work well. I had a Gaiam bag in the past that I used for years without problems. I did wash it once and air dried it (not the dryer), and because it is cotton it did still shrink a little. I won’t wash this because I like the roominess so that I don’t have to roll my yoga mat too tight. I’m really pleased with this, and the color, Niagra, is a really peaceful blueish green. The design is attractive, and gender neutral, too. This bag is perfect for me.

La borsa, nonostante nel titolo sia scritto verde, arriva nel bellissimo colore viola della foto. Per quel che l’ho pagata mi aspettavo un cotone misero, invece è di un bel cotone resistente ed e’ molto ben fatta. Occhio alle misure del vostro tappetino, il mio è sottile e ci sta giusto giusto, forse quelli più spessi e larghi fanno fatica a starci. Per me un ottimo affare, sono molto soddisfatta.

I bought this bag as I needed a way to transport my yoga mat when I was cycling. I have a standard size 6mm thick mat and it fits the bag well. The zip is sturdy and it is easy to fit the mat in as the opening runs from the bottom of the bag right through the top and ends at the back of the bag. It is a double zipper, i.e., one zip but with two zip ends so you can just open up a small part of the bag if you want.I was concerned that the two pockets (a large one on the front and a smaller one on the back) might not hold items well as they fasten with velcro but I have found them fit for purpose. The one at the front is large enough to take a strap, my keys and a phone, but the bag would not fit a block as well. The small pocket would probably also take a phone and definitely fits my gym card.The strap is fully adjustable and adequate for a medium sized woman when the bag is worn across the back. It is quite tight across the chest (I’m a size 12) with just a T shirt on, I haven’t yet had the chance to try it when wearing a coat (but am unlikely to wear a thick one as I’m cycling). I do find the strap twists slightly but it is not uncomfortable.The bag is made of a strong canvas, the purple is brighter than the picture shows. I don’t know if it is colour fast, I will find out when it rains! I would have liked a waterproof fabric but this seemed the best item for a price I could afford.I have cycled with the bag on my back and found it hasn’t affected my balance at all, it is a good way to transport a mat on a bike – however it does protrude slightly on either side so I have to be careful when walking through doors that I don’t get stuck!
