HowMedics Blood Pressure Monitor
So I bought this as it is recommended that you replace your blood pressure monitor every few years. Mine was at least 5 years old (Omron) but still seemed to work well. At any rate this device is more compact than the Omron but seems to be a quality build. The arm sleeve is a bit lighter material than the Omron and I wonder over time and use if it will hold up as well. I took my blood pressure with both within a couple minutes of each other and the systolic pressure was exactly the same and the diastolic only a couple mm different. (guess I didnt need to replace the old one) I’ll use the new one for travel as it more compact. So it seems to work fine, nicely packaged, arrived on time and the only difference is the quality of the sleeve and who knows maybe the Omron sleeve has changed too.

Seems to work well
Have been using this for several days now and it appears to be working well and is relatively easy to use. There was plenty of info about high BP in the brochure but there was nothing about low BP, which is what I am dealing with. Would also like to see healthy alternatives to the plastic packaging.

Very Disappointing, Not Accurate and Painful. Do Not Buy!
I purchased the HoMedics Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor with the expectation of getting reliable readings at home. Unfortunately, this product has been nothing but frustrating. The readings are not accurate (as compared to my Dr’s office), and the cuff overpressures to the point where it becomes genuinely painful. To make things worse, the last 6-7 attempts to measure my blood pressure resulted in nothing but an ERR message. This is going in the trash, as my return window has expired. You get what you pay for.I cannot recommend this product. I’ll be spending more next time to get a quality device that I can trust.

Inaccurate readings
I brought this blood pressure monitor so my husband and I could keep track of our readings. I purchased this brand of monitor many years ago, so I thought it was a good choice. It’s pretty easy to use, however the readings it gave were very inconsistent. In a matter of minutes the readings would differ by as much as ten points! To confirm it’s accuracy, I took it with me to my doctor’s appointment and the nurse used it to compare with her machine. The readings were 131/79 (hers) and 150/91 (HoMedics!) The cuff would often continue to inflate as it seems like it could not detect the pulse and felt like it was cutting off blood circulation in my arm. The last disappointment was that it did not come with a carrying case. Don’t waste your money on this one.
