Pricey but worth it to get feedback on Keto
First, I have no experience with the prior model of the Keto Mojo monitor. Reading many previous reviews, there is frustration with the company and how they rolled out this new model. So far my experience with this model has been great. Set-up was nearly instant and I had my first reading within 5-10 minutes (after reading the directions). One thing I’ve read is that the strips are hard to get out of their foil package. I’m a 46 year old male and yes you do have tear with some force. What I have found is that I start about 1/3 of the way down, it’s much easier and the strip is durable enough that it doesn’t get damaged. If you try to open the foil at the very end it’s nearly impossible. Also I have not wasted a single strip due to an error or not getting the drop to fill the strip. I have found that if I prick my finger then squeeze it to get a drop, I hold the monitor at about 45 degree angle it fills the strip in 1-2 seconds. I just have not experienced any of the issues that others have mentioned. The lancets that came with the starter kit were blue, but I ordered extras (amazon recommended) and these were purple. I find the purple ones fits much better in the lancing device, they are slightly different, but work better in my opinion.As for the meter itself and the readings, downloading the app and syncing with the meter is easy, really nothing to do, just hit the sync button on the app and make sure the meter is nearby. If there is more than 1 mojo meter in the house you will want to keep them separated as the meter and your phone are not paired, it’s just using near field communication (like Apple AirDrop). I like the app and the easy view of my readings (of course I don’t always like the numbers I see, but that’s my issue not the monitor). Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. It’s helping me stay motivated and really know whether certain foods will kick me out of ketosis. I’m down 11lbs after 4 weeks.I do suggest watching a few videos on ketone monitors and how to understand the readings. I’m typically in the .05-.08 range and thought I was doing something wrong because the the monitor will tell you that you are in light ketosis, and I wanted to be in deep ketosis – more is more right? But after watching a few videos I realized my numbers were where they should be and more importantly I’m seeing results.

Wow – just wow, the GK+ is sexy!
I have been using the old Keto-Mojo Ketone/Glucose meter off and on for almost 3 years. I was super excited with the release of the new Meter – the GK+ — and felt it was a much better choice for my lifestyle. I love the individually wrapped strips. The meter was super easy to set up and get connected to the Keto-Mojo app.I was diagnosed as Pre-diabetic 3 1/2 years ago. I decided to try the Ketogenic diet to see if this would help. Testing both my Ketones and Glucose on a regular basis would be important to help me on my journey but after doing research, I found that testing Ketones was very expensive. Testing ketones back then could be $2-$5 per test! I did not think I could afford to test at that time. Soon after I heard about the Keto-Mojo meter.Both Diet Doctor and Thomas DeLauer recommended the Keto-Mojo meter. I loved being able to know how foods were affecting me quickly. I was able to get my high blood sugar under control within 2 months of being on the Keto Diet. Since that time, I test when I want to introduce new foods to my diet. The Keto-Mojo meter is the best tool I have found to know what my levels are for both Ketones and Glucose.Plus being able to track my progress on the app lets me also give my Doctor my readings quick and easy.With the previous Keto-Mojo Meter, the downside was that the strips were sold in a vial of 50 which may be more than I might use before they expire in 6 months. This can get expensive. The new meter has individually wrapped strips. This is fantastic.With the older Meter, when I first learned to test, I did receive errors and was very frustrated. I considered returning the product, but I really wanted to try out the Keto-Mojo meter. I reached out to Customer Support by going to their company website. Amazon cannot help you with the meter. Keto-Mojo’s customer support helped me walk through the testing process and I was able to test without errors. Yes, being new to testing there was a learning curve with being able to get enough blood.I purchased the new GK+ meter as soon as it was released. Right from the start I knew I loved this meter. Here are some great changes:• Individually wrapped strips at a lower price!!• NO CODE KEY needed!!! -this is so great. (Yes, I threw mine away once- Thank you Customer Support for your assistance with this) •New carrying case- The new case holds all my supplies. I would call it a soft sided hard case.• Control Solution- This was not included in the older model. Thank you very much Keto-Mojo for including both ketone and glucose control solution. This gives me peace of mind that I know the meter is in range when I start testing.• Easy Set up- Make sure and pull the tab that is on the batteries. It says, “Pull Here.” Read the Manual it is easy to follow along. But you can also find the set up on the company website in the help section.• No little button on the back to push.• Sealed Lancing Device and enough lancets for all the strips inside the starter kit.• The Keto-Mojo app is amazing, the connection to the app was simple and easy.I love this company because they are small company that really cares, and they are all about information. So far, testing with the GK+ meter has been a breeze. They have a great start up story, and they listened to requests for lower prices and new features on the app. Being a business owner myself I understand making these changes is not something that can happen overnight.The website is the real deal for me. There is no other one stop shop for learning everything (and I mean everything!) about the keto lifestyle – I’m hooked on the recipes and find myself anxiously awaiting new posts.I feel if you are looking for a Blood Glucose and Ketone meter this is the best choice.Thanks Keto-Mojo!

Good but over-hyped
I think the product is good. But, it’s also overpriced and just a really well-marketed product to a niche audience. It’s no better than the more experienced, long standing products you would get for diabetes patients which are cheaper and in my opinion actually better quality. I don’t regret buying this because I’ve been curious about it for 2-3 years… but, I was overseas so I couldn’t get it shipped to me. For someone doing keto for 5 years now, I did want to try this hoping it would be somehow a game changer. But, nah. I found it a little annoying because the readings wouldn’t get sent to the phone and just felt clunky. So, it ended up just feeling like an overpriced BG/Ketone meter but where it’s harder to buy replacement test strips (at least if you live overseas). Overall, it’s a pretty good product, I just think it’s price isn’t really justified. And, after a couple days I reverted to using the standard one I already had for years. The test strips are thicker and more sturdy on the old one…. these ones are super thin and feel like they will bend or break easily. Although that didn’t happen to me. Pretty good product just not for me.

Impostarlo è un percorso a ostacoli. Non si tratta solo di “smanettare un po’”: è proprio un sistema progettato male, con un’assistenza video completamente scollegata dal comportamento reale del dispositivo.Inoltre, tutto questo stress arriva prima ancora di poter fare una singola misurazione. Non ho nemmeno avuto modo di valutare se i valori fossero attendibili, perché non sono riuscita ad avviarlo correttamente, e non per mancanza di volontà.Per fortuna ho potuto restituirlo. Ma mi chiedo come sia possibile che nessuna delle centinaia di recensioni positive parli con chiarezza di questi problemi. Sembra che il pubblico target di questo strumento sia costituito solo da utenti avanzati, pazienti e tecnicamente competenti. Per chi cerca un’esperienza affidabile, accessibile e immediata — soprattutto se deve monitorarsi ogni giorno — questo strumento è una trappola.
