    Good Quality Rower!
I have been doing Crossfit for a while, due to the work schedule changed, I have to do my workout at home sometimes, Rowing is always one of my favorite exercise of all . The crossfit gym usually uses Concept2 rowers, but the price is much higher so it is not in my consideration. The Marcy rower is much affordable that fits my budget, and the quality of the system is actually quite nice. It took me about 30-40 min to assemble and I immediately started using it and did my first 5k on this equipment.I think the resistance level is good & the pull is very smooth – I was doing at 75% with the 5k and still get quite sweaty after .It would be nice if there is an iphone holder for the add on, so I can watch movie while rowing .Overall, its a good system for the price.

    Good Cardio, little resistance
We bought this to do cardio in our home. It took about 20 minutes to put together without issue. All the parts were there. We chose this model mainly because it can handle a 300 pound person. We did run into the same problem other people have had with the little to no resistance. It has 8 notches for resistance but we feel no difference between one and eight. Still a nice smooth moving cardio addition to the home gym.

Decent-ish starter rower, not great for long term use
We purchased this rower in June 2021. It isn’t very comfortable to sit on, the seat is extremely hard and takes weeks before your body can use it without discomfort for the duration of the workout. The plastic piece holding the handlebars to the strap broke within a few weeks of use. We were able to figure out a way to make it work despite the broken piece. But more recently, the foot hold broke off on the right side, which makes it significantly more difficult to use. It is a moderately decent starter rower, but will not hold up well to long term usage. For the price, I would recommend another rower rather than spending more on this one that will not hold up for even one year.

Moves and resistance level is low
Not for someone who wants to increase resistance. Moves during use.

Seems solid and an affordable alternative to Concept 2
I never write reviews but I thought I would for this machine since I read so many before purchasing. I’ve used a concept 2 at my work gym for several years, rowing 100k meters one year. So I’m pretty familiar with what’s considered the gold standard of rowers. This is a good affordable alternative. I bought it for my wife to use and I use it too. I have no idea what the people who said their is not enough tension. They must have thought rowing is like using a cable weight machine. There is plenty of tension. I row at full resistance on the concept 2 and I row with this machine at about mid resistance. The seat is softer than the concept 2. But, you are pushing up hill a little and though that seemed to work my legs more, it started to hurt my butt in the 2nd half of a 5k row. It seems sturdy. Looks nice. Assembly was easy. If it lasts it will be great. Either the display computer is off or it’s a tougher row than the concept 2. Takes me less than 25min to row 5k on concept and this took me 30min on first attempt. It was at the end of a hard day but I think it is more of a workout.

Machine gun noise and low resistance
The Marcy turbine rower has a well made frame, solid stationary foot holders and a comfortable seat. It is a shame Marcy didn’t put as much effort into making a sturdy fan/magnetic rowing mechanism (after all that is the heart of rower). First couple of days the machine was fairly quiet, then the fan/magnetic mechanism started sounding like a creaking door in a haunted house. I might have been able to live with that but the noise increased to where the creaking changed to a rapid fire noise like a machine gun. It was so loud that it was over powering the TV speakers that were no more than 2 feet from my ears. Needless to say the machine is going back. I was also disappointed in the resistance level. Not much difference between 0 and 8 unless you row really fast which of course you couldn’t do thanks to the machine gun noise that got louder the faster you rowed.

    Very Impressed
I’ve been shopping around for an air rower for my garage gym for a while now. My choices seemed to be either spend way too much money on a Concept 2 or get a cheap one that might break on me at any moment. I’m really glad I finally came across this rower from Marcy. It is a little more expensive than some of the cheaper models, but it won’t break the bank. Some of the reviews were a little negative with regards to the amount of resistance from this machine. From what I can tell, this seems to be user error. Most air rowers are quite simple in how they function. If you don’t pull hard or go fast, then you don’t get much resistance. If you pull harder or go faster, you get more resistance. I did intervals on this rower last night, and according to my Garmin, my max heart rate got up to 195 bpm. I’ll let you decide if I got a good workout. It does seem to walk a bit when you really get going. The mat I had it on was sliding forward in the garage while I was rowing. I wasn’t actually expecting to be able to get anywhere on this rower, but I guess I could slowly make it to the corner store if I wanted to. This issue was easily remedied. I just put some of my weight plates on the mat, and there was no more moving. Since I’m not sure if the movement was because of the mat or the machine, I won’t knock any stars off.I’m a certified personal trainer on the side, and I have other products from Marcy (weight bench and a cage), and I’ve been impressed with their quality. This air rower is not an exception.

I enjoy using this to change things up once in a while. I was surprised at the difficulty level. I consider myself a strong dude but I’m pretty winded by the 8 min mark. I like using this as a warm up to my workout. I don’t know what kind of Olympians are on Amazon saying that this machine’s resistance isn’t up to par, but it’s more than enough for me. I’ve been using it for about two months steady now and it’s held up tremendously.

Was missing parts to assemble, but was quickly dealt with by a trip to Canadian Tire for the bolts. Also put in a claim with the manufacturer to get the proper replacement parts as one of the missing pieces was the hinge pin. Works as advertised. It’s a great workout. Feels really solid, smooth movement. Price keeps dropping so I imagine it will not be available much longer.

The box that it arrived in was damaged but the unit was well packaged and it went together in about an hour and change. The exercise aspect is up to me. The rower will provide that part. Nice unit.

This rower has very little resistance, both my wife and I find it weak . We have set it at the highest and I find my heart rate is not affected . I know this is not a commercial machine at a gym, but at this price expectations are higher . 2/10 because the resistance is not up to par. The assembly/ noise / movement is great , but the resistance is awful
