buy it. it is worth it especially if its on sale.
the merach q3s is a fairly well put together machine.i have had it for just under 2 weeks at this time. and i have been able to use it every day but one despite never using one before and being fairly out of shape to begin with. now im not doing 30 minute hitt work outs on it, but i am doing something and i am noticing some improvements. especially in the thigh area which have regained some muscle tone. i have a long way to go yet.assembly – fairly easy to assemble, the tool they provide is required as a socket wrench will not get into all of the places you need one. two issues with assembly.one – the bolts package is near impossible to read once you open it as the plastic cover is adhered to the cardboard over the identification numbers. its not hard to figure it out but once you open it dont bother trying to verify it from the package.two – one bolt a silver button head hex head which is probably the last one you need to install (it was for me) is poorly shown in the assembly directions. it goes into the bottom of the machine between the foot pedals to hold the long rod for the foot pedals in place. it does not tighten all the way down but instead snugs up against the rod itself. leaving about a half inch to an inch exposed between the wooden rails.pros – the rower is quiet, its easy to use and comfortable.the display is large enough that i can read it even at the far end of the travel cycle.the foot rests are large and sturdy with no noticeable flex. i bought a stepper from amazon that i couldnt use because my shoes wouldn’t fit comfortably on the pedals.the seat cushion while it looks small at first is comfortable and adequate. i thought i would need to buy a cover or extra padding for it but after a few days you learn where to park your rear just right. it has a slight rock to it between the bearing underneath and the aluminum rails but its barely noticeable while rowing.ascetics – this thing is a piece of work out equipment its not meant to be “pretty” however the wood rails are almost a cherry wood in color close enough that it almost matches the $1500 glider rockers i bought from dutchcrafters. so it doesnt glare out as a hunk of work out equipment.portability/moveability – this thing weighs next to nothing when it comes time to move it. slide the seat forward, grab the end cap for the rails lift and roll to where you need it.cons – more a personal issue than equipment wise, this thing sits low to the ground. when i first got it i wasnt sure i would be able to use it because i wasnt sure how i was getting myself up after using it the first time. (i have bad knees to begin with) i use the edge of my coffee table and the seat it self to leverage myself up kind of like getting out of the bath tub.merach app – if there is one i couldnt find it on their website, and apparently its for cell phone use only for their other equipment. if i was at a gym that would be fine but at home i dont need to spend minutes on my plan to use my own equipment.display cable – the cable isnt overly long… but it has to be folded to fit inside the housing of the display stand and the rower. which makes it fiddley to install. i had the display go out on me because the connector was twisted a bit or something. removed the display (three button head bolts) checked the connection and it has worked fine since. just be aware when fitting the cable into the stand to not pinch or torque the cable connector.display numbers – its all in metric not imperial so its all kilometers while this is common for water sports it wasnt what i expected from a piece of work out equipment built in the united states. nor is there any way to change it (one mile = 1.60934 kilometers) not that big a deal for distance… however when your rowing at a speed of 6.3 on the display and think your doing good its actually only 3.91464 mph kinda a let down at first. pay attention to your strokes per minute more than your speed it will help with your consistency and improve your power/strength.biggest con – the advertisement for the rower claims up to 130 pounds of resistance. but there is no break down of that resistance for each of the “16 levels” the rower provides” when i emailed customer service for a list or chart their response was dont have one sorry. although they did respond quickly to my email. kind of strange not to have a chart of what the machine is capable of but then claim an upper limit.is it worth purchasing – yes , as long as you get it on sale i got it when it had a $200 off coupon , which as of the time of this review is the same price as the “black friday” price. i was always taught buy the best you can afford, so while merach makes lower priced rowers i went with what i believe to be their newest model with the bells and whistles. (larger display, wood look, quiet, and no fan to gunk up with dust, or a water container to fill up)only time will tell how beneficial it is and then only if i continue to use it regularly. but as it stands right now i look forward to using it each day i have only skipped one day and that was the second day i had it as i wasnt sure if i could use it every day or needed to skipp days for recovery. at longer intervals of use or higher intensity that may be necessary but right now im doing fine using it everyday and again i enjoy doing so and seeing some improvement according to the display and how i feel.

    Worth the price paid
I really like this rowing machine. Some assembly required 😁, however, it wasn’t too bad. The directions for connecting via Bluetooth were very vague, but we were able to make it happen. The machine is not professional quality, but for the price (including the $200 off coupon offered), it is worth it.

Powerful, Quiet, and Perfect for a Home Gym
This rower completely exceeded my expectations. It’s an electric rower that doesn’t need to stay plugged in. But if you let it sit idle for a while, just charge it through the USB-C port to top up the internal battery. I’d recommend charging it right after setup, but it will still work as long as you’re actively rowing. The resistance is impressive, going up to around 120 lbs, which gives plenty of range for both endurance and strength-focused workouts. Being able to adjust resistance directly from the handle makes changing intensity mid-session incredibly smooth. Not having to reach for a button or knob to is a huge plus for me.Bluetooth pairing with my tablet was effortless, and has a spot for your phone or tablet to access their app or other compatible apps. My tablet feels secure with the elastic bands keeping it in place. This machine comes disassembled but the instructions were very straightforward. I’ve had it for about a month now, but if I remember correctly I had it setup within 30 min.It has the ability to stand upright for storage. And the rowing motion itself is pretty quiet, ideal for home use, even late at night.Their customer support is very helpful and responsive. I had questions when I was setting up my rower and they responded very quick. I feel safe knowing I could reach out to them and they’re not going to leave you until you’ve been helped with.
