Not wide enough; not handy enough
I thought this was going to be my everything go-to tape measure. I’m a contractor and an inspector. Don’t get me wrong. Its a good quality item. However, I researched much before buying this one because a friend had one like it that was really great. This is not it. The problem I had with this one is two fold. First, in the slightest breeze when extending the tape out, it will twist and fall. Its not stiff enough like the wider fatter ones are. Second, and this really bothers me: The catch is too concealed; I cannot get it to just grab onto something and pull it. I have to reach up into it with my fingers (sometimes have to remove my glove) to find the catch and then pull it out a little and then hook it on. Its just not working that good for me. The good things about this tape measure are: 1. belt clip is great; holds well, 2. The thumb brake opening on the bottom is a reason alone to own this tape measure. All in all for the price, I’ll not be buying a second one of these, though I will keep my eyes open for a good deal on the wider version of this.
