Updated: great little light / Disappointed! Lasted for a whole 2 months of occasional use!!!
Update June 2024: I increased the rating to 5 stars. The replacement light that nite rider sent has been working without a glitch for close to 1.5 years, holding charge.+++++++++++Update 1/2: contacted nite rider (Amazon support was not helpful as it was just after 2 months). The nite rider responded next day and sent me an ups label to return the item, and have replaced with a new light. Bumping up to 4 stars and will update again in a couple of months if no issues. Satisfied with the nite rider customer support and response.********The mounting was very simple, it holds ok, so I had to fix the angle after a few bumps on my way. The charging time is about 3 hours. The light was bright and I could see ok in almost dark conditions. The problem, is that after 2 months and barely 10 uses (I bike at most 2/week) the light suddenly stopped charging. Yesterday it charged fine, today after my ride in the morning it would not charge at all. Tried different charging cords, outlets, nothing. I barely made it back in the evening with light. I do not recommend this product at all.A light is a safety feature for cycling at night, and a light that fails so soon and so suddenly is just not dependable.

A great light, but faulty
This is a great light, I have been using it for mountain biking at night and been happy with visibility. I have a second Lumina light that I mount to my helmet. It enables me to light up the trail in front of me and see well enough to do familiar green and blue trails at night. The lock feature is nice – it never comes on in my bag. However, after only 4-5 rides, it failed and would not turn on anymore. I have contacted NiteRider to ask for a replacement. I have seen other reviews stating that the light failed in this way, so I am not that surprised, but wonder if I just recieved a faulty one.UPDATE-NiteRider responded to my email almost immediately and sent me a shipping label to return the light. They actually fixed my light and sent it back to me with a detailed report of what was broken and how they fixed it. It is working perfectly and ready for more rides! Thank you NiteRider!

The Best
Great light for commuting but I use mine as an auxiliary helmet light for night mountain bike rides. Throws a great spot light and I mostly run it on the 800 lumen setting for better battery life

Poor quality
Not a quality build. Flickers out after a few rides. Bad connections. The old stuff was good but the new stuff is built poorly

Very bright and high quality
It is very bright and feels high-quality boost is very useful for mountains and trails and so far no flaws. Easy to install and great value can also easily detach to charge and very durable but I can only do 55 minutes of battery life on max

Great all-purpose bike light
This light is awesome for the price, but especially when considering I bought it when it was discounted for 50% off. I wore this light on my helmet during a 25-hour mountain bike race, paired with a Lezyne 1600 on my handlebars. This light is very bright and has a slightly more narrow, spotlight-like beam pattern. Perfect to be worn on the head. Stayed put and was not too heavy as to cause neck fatigue. I was really impressed with the build quality. There are many light modes to choose from but “medium” was totally sufficient to keep the trail illuminated during the night segments of my race.Strap mounting system wasn’t for me. I bought an accessory to allow me to mount this light on my GoPro helmet mount.Photos compare the beam pattern to a Lezyne 1600. The Lumina shows a blue light on the unit while the Lezyne shows a green light on the unit. Note the Lumina’s narrower beam pattern.

Died after 5months
Bought this in Sept 2024, we are now in June 2025 and it stopped working. I mostly ride evenings into night, 3 times weekly and charge it once a week. After the red light came on, I went to charge it this week, and it refused to charge. Deeply disappointed with this unit. I have had several units over the years, mostly good experiences; however, the last 2 units had problems, which had to be replaced. It looks like the quality of this brand has gone down considerably. Will be looking at other brands now

Great light, super bright! Questionable Mount. Phenomenal customer service!
I used the light for 6 months. Loved it! One day after the sun was up so the light was off the entire mount and light came off and disappeared into the mountain. When I contacted customer service they promptly sent me a new light under warranty! Most lights on Amazon don’t even have a customer service contact. Go with nite rider, can’t beat it for the price.

Bought the previous version over 8 years ago and updated recently with this one. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

So bright and charge lasts plenty long enough for commutes.
