I needed a good detox shampoo, as I started wrapping my hair about 4 months ago. Since I’m no longer using styling products, and now wearing scarves daily, my scalp has been readjusting and overcompensating by producing more oil.I always washed my hair weekly before, but now my usual shampoo hasn’t been sufficient, and I’ve been left with build up even after doing a second shampoo.After scouring reviews, I chose this OUAI travel kit, with detox shampoo, and thick hair mask and scalp scrub. I wanted to try the travel size before committing to the large bottles. I also purchased a handheld scalp scrubber.The value seemed pretty fair for the size, but I had to wait and see how much I went through once I actually used it.As for the Scalp scrub. My hair is halfway down my back, very thick and curly. I put about a quarter size amount in my palm to start and was shocked when it was actually enough to distribute throughout my whole scalp! I wasn’t exactly sure what to make of the scent when I first read the description on the listing, but its very pleasant! Not too sweet, just enough to be fresh and feminine. I used the scalp scrubber to loosen up the buildup at my scalp and was suprised I was able to use it to comb through my hair. Getting a comb through wet hair prior to shampooing is something that just doesn’t happen, so this is when I started to realize I was possibly working with miracle products.After about 3 minutes of gentle scrubbing, it rinsed clean. I could already feel a major difference.I applied about a half dollar size amount of the Detox shampoo. Wonderful rich lather, that same fresh scent and clean rinsing. After that amazing scalp scrub the single wash was sufficient. I can’t even remember the last time I didn’t have to wash my hair twice!The Thick Hair mask only required a quarter size drop. Also unheard of with this much hair. Usually I need a palm full in order to get a comb through my hair.I was able to comb through my hair with my fingers alone, as I had already combed through from the very beginning. No greasiness with this hair masque here; just unbeatable softness.After a thorough rinse, and towel dry, I examined my scalp, and there was no trace of any leftover buildup. As stated before, I only use the bare essentials in products now. I’m no longer using curl creams, smoothing oils, or hairsprays. Just a couple sprays of the included leave in conditioner was enough to work through my hair. It had the same light, fresh scent as the other products.I let my hair air dry, and it felt amazing! My hair was soft, my curls had definition, it was shiny and full of movement.I couldnt believe how much different my hair looked after one treatment. I had never tried a scalp scrub before, but was so simple to use, and after seeing such an incredible difference after one use, I’m a convert! I’ve already added the larger bottles of each product to my subscribe and save.They have many different options for individual types of hair. _As a former hairdresser, I understand quality products aren’t cheap. But it’s because they are super concentrated, which means you use less, and they last longer. Using more cheap product often means your only piling on products made with higher concentrations of water, and questionable chemicals from a questionable source.Choose the right product for your hair and I promise you won’t be disappointed with this brand. Quality products are like a prescription. You need the one made specifically for your needs. If you have fine hair and get thick hair products, you’ll end up with weighed down hair, as people with thick hair need the extra moisture and oils.Similarly, if someone with thick hair buys a product for fine hair, it’s probably not going to cleanse well enough, the conditioner in all likelihood will be much too thin. Adding more of it won’t change anything, it’s the consistency that won’t be right.I’ve been alternating between 2 different brands for about 8 years, and thought they were the best. I’ve tried a couple others here and there mostly out of curiousity, but none of them were nearly as good and I always went back to my two favorites.But since I’ve changed my entire daily routine, that naturally includes having to find the appropriate new care routine.I don’t believe the scalp detox would be appropriate for weekly washing, as that would strip the oils entirely and leave me with no natural moisture.I have a feeling I will likely be purchasing the Thick Hair formula as well, and over the next few months working to find the right balance.Your hair and scalp will thank you if you too take the time to choose the correct product for your hair needs.Purchase a scalp massager for an extra massaging experiences for those with excessive buildup or if you simply enjoy an extra massage. I have been a licensed cosmetologist since 2004 and I can’t even remember the last time I tried a new product line that I was so impressed with. A couple products I liked well enough to finish the bottle. But I haven’t found new products in the last 20 years that worked well enough to warrent actually buying a 2nd bottle, let alone the whole shampoo/conditioner/scrub/hair masque! This is the jackpot right here!100% recommended! Enjoy!EDIT- I had a hair appointment last week, and my Stylist says she has never seen my hair so healthy! The oiliness in my scalp is beginning to balance out and my hair is softer and healthier than it’s ever been.

Best Scrub
These were perfect for traveling, just the right size. The price point it a little higher than what I normally would spend but definitely worth it. They all smelled great, the scrub was amazing and left my skin feeling refreshed and smooth. The shampoo left my hair feeling shiny, refreshed and clean. The container for the shampoo and conditioner were not the best, they were open upon arrival and some of the product had leaked out everywhere ( not very durable).

It was what I expected only thing was should have taped the cover shut for shampoo, it was opened slightly and leaked in package.
