Needed a shorter bar for T-bar rows. My home gym is packed and this worked out well. Not a cheaply made bar. And the black finish has held up well.

decent bar
i bought the 4 ft version of this bar, there are various weights that are bought up with this bar but my informal weighing (holding the bar vertical and stepping on the scale) found that the bar i was sent weighed 19.9 lbs. i bought this bar to use as a specialty bar to use with my landmine attachment since my workout space is very limited. the bar is very good so far and is holding up BUT the sleeves are pretty short meaning, if you use bumper plates (as i do), you won’t be able to load a lot of weight on. with lockjaw clamps you can only fit 140 (a 45 lb plate and 25 lb plate on each side ) lbs of plates on, while with squeeze clamps you can fit 170 (45, 25 and 15 on each side) lbs. which means a total of 159.9 lbs and 189.9 lbs. completely useless for squats and conventional deadlifts unless you’re a beginner and, in the case of squats, have a VERY narrow upper back. although you could use it for romanian deadlift or stiff leg deadlifts as a main or warm up lift and it might be too narrow for sumo deadlifts unless you have very short legs. all in all though, i have a regular sized powerlifting barbell for squats and benching and i do deadlifts at a normal gym so this bar is good for what i use it for. also the 4 ft bar is too short to use on any rack, on the landmine, i can load even less weight on the sleeve since i use the sleeve as a handle, so landmine squats and romanian / stiff leg deadlifts are used as either a warm up weight or i use high volume.

When first unpackaging sleeves must be oiled to operate properly. Unless you need a 4-ft specialty bar your best bet is to go with the 5 ft there are a lot more options. The coating on the bar seems to be paint although it may be powder coat I’m not certain but because of the coating the knurling is minimal. The coating also has a strong odor so if you do front squats you’ll have to get used to it. I use the bar for overhead press, clean and press,deadlift, and rows. So it’s working well and looks good. Not a lot of options for a 4-ft straight bar. I feel that with this one I got a good quality bar and decent price.

EXCELLENT OLYMPIC BAR
I purchased the 5 foot all black Olympic bar and it’s a beauty. It work’s flawlessly, spinning freely.I found the biggest complaint for other brand bars are the horrible inadequate packaging. The packaging of this bar could not be better. It’s shipped in a heavy duty carton and in the carton, there is an ultra heavy duty tube that protects the bar in shipping. The bar arrived in perfect condition. I am very happy with this bar.I think this is the budget bar to buy.
