Take a look inside:

Hitch Kick/Bicycle: Expand Your Shooting Range
To do this, jump up off your soon-to-be shooting foot. With the opposite leg, forcefully bring your non-shooting leg upward, bringing you higher off the ground. Now, with the ball high off the ground, strike it like a volley.

Crosses: Set the Table for scoring
This ball should be, once again, outside the goalkeeper’s range and ideally four to 10 yards off the goal line. This gives a great opportunity for a teammate to make a run to the far post and strike the ball hard toward the net.

Working the Ball Out of the Back
When a team wants to keep position, they start by working the ball out of the back. Too many times, players think that working it out of the back only involves the goalkeeper and the defenders. But working it out of the back is really an 11-person activity—one that begins with the backs and the goalkeeper.

Great break down of the game.
This book is a great break down of the game! I love the way it explains offense, defense and goalie positions. They explain different positions, different strategies and different skills. This would be a good read for coaches and parents alike. The kids will love the inserts of the famous players and learn a lot from the drills that are scattered throughout the book. I also liked the section for parents to help you understand how to be the best and most supportive fan for your little one!I received this book for free in exchange for this unbiased review.

Meh…
This book was purchased for our 10 y/o soccer player. He plays the goalie position and this book did not address any skill for that position.

Wonderful skills book for new soccer plays and those new to coaching younger children in soccer
For the last couple of years, my husband has coached both of our daughters’ soccer teams, but this year, they will be in different leagues and play on the same night, so daddy cannot coach both teams and our youngest daughter’s team still needed a coach. This is where mama steps in and I needed to quickly get up to speed and ready to coach a group of young girls in a sport that I’ve only ever played for fun, but have enjoyed watching for years. I received Soccer Smarts For Kids in exchange for my honest opinion. This book offers easy to read, easy follow and no-nonsense tips for helping kids play soccer to the best of their abilities. With tips on everything from soccer terms, positions (even a handy chart showing positions on the field!), explanations on how to do certain skills (passes, movement of the ball, running, etc) and even some highlights on superstar players that kids may engage with to really propel their playing when they want to play like someone they admire. I really like the explanations and how this will help me better understand the game so that I can teach these 7 and 8 year old girls how to play!
