Fantastic book, creative and positive. Loved it!
The Mindfulness Creativity Journal by Worthy Stokes is quite different than what I had expected. I’ve not been much into meditation or self-appreciation, but this past year has been a challenge, and I felt I needed something to lift me up and get me back on track; this book hit the mark. When I first picked up the journal and started reading, I instantly relaxed and felt a calmness come over me. The journal’s content was not heavy or overbearing; it was light and simple to read. I looked forward to each exercise. They were creative, and I had fun doing each one. I would put the book down and follow the exercises suggested and then come back with bright, fresh thoughts to write down. The journal helped me get to a place in my thoughts and in my life that was positive and loving towards myself (which I never do) and it helped me to see others in a different light. I have purchased 5 more books as gifts for my gal friends for our trip to Mexico this weekend. I’m hoping they too – amidst this crazy past year and their busy lives of giving so much to others – will be able to relax, and as Worthy says in her book, “explore the wisdom of you.”

A Gentle, Loving Personal Growth Resource!
Highly, highly, highly recommend this book. It is the best gift to myself. It is full of creative approaches to mindfulness. All I can say is trust the author. Worthy Stokes will not steer you wrong. I found journal prompts that warmed me, inviting me to reflect on the people in my life “who make me feel loved, cherished, seen.” Always a great reminder when feeling like the world is just too much. The author also provides gently guided meditations that soothed me. I was invited to color butterflies so as to envision the feeling of joy. The variety in this journal left me with resources that I could go back to throughout my day or week. What’s so powerful is that I learned about myself, I leaned into myself, and it felt good. A gentle, loving personal growth resource. I would have loved to have had this book to use with my students when I was teaching high school. A great resource. I will be gifting this book to many others. Hope you have as much fun with it as I did!I was provided a free review copy by the publisher.

    I love it!!
This is the first time I have journaled and had high expectations for it coming in. My expectations were exceeded with this one! I love that there is a mixture of activities in this journal because I have adhd and get bored really easily but I haven’t so far. I love writing for the purpose of expressing myself and there is some good prompts/mini activities that have helped me with that. I’m looking to see what other journals the author has to offer. 😊

    Great self Workbook
I like the writing exercises. Some really make you think. There are many self soothing exercises that the author leads. I wish there were more writing prompts instead of half of it seeming to be the alternate. However, it’s a good book overall.

A great way to check in with yourself!
I’ve had this book/journal for about a month now and I’m so happy to have purchased it. It’s filled with an array of exercises…visual, visceral, tonal, contemplative, meditative…all of which allow you to either participate in the activity or just to serve as a prompt to reflect. You can go through the pages in almost any order, so it’s been fun to just randomly open the book and drop in on whatever Worthy has provided for on the page, whether it’s an exercise, a thought, a drawing or a useful quote. The book has become like a friend or companion that offers a sense of comfort, and it has reminded me to always maintain an ‘inner smile’.

Print hard to read. I don’t feel many of the prompts were that helpful.
This Mindfulness Journal is a really great idea and has some good prompts but I found myself not using it because it’s so hard for me to read. The print is small, and light, so it’s hard to see on the colored backgrounds. If it were printed darker I think you could see it better. There are some prompts that I feel are very close to others. Many prompts suggest drawing things that I feel the average person would have trouble with. I’m an artist and I found it easier to make collages that represented the things mentioned. I also feel that asking people to draw things, like a self portrait…, with make people uncomfortable and worry so much about getting it right that it negates the whold concept of mindfulness.I’ve been studying mindfulness for quite some time now and I didn’t really feel that this book deepened that knowledge. I also don’t feel it’s a good introduction to mindfulness. I was hoping to have a creative way to meditate, but most of the prompts I tried caused me to think too much and worry about how to fulfill the assignment. They don’t put me in a mindful state of mind. When I’ve don’t creative expressions with mindfulness before, it entailed things that I just got into and zoned out. Making me focus on the art (visual or written) and get in a mindful and relaxed state.Mindfulness should come much easier. I find it easy to zone into my art and have a mindfulness experience, a type of meditation where all I think about is what I’m creating. I didn’t get that with the prompts in the book.In the pictures you can see a few prompts, but mainly I wanted to show the font, and type face. You can see that the prompts are much lighter than the quotes. (Note, the photos were taken under the bright outdoor sun, if you read under a dimmer light, like I do, this will look different) If you have no problems with it you might want to check out this book.I might have a more negative feeling about it all simply because I get frustrated trying to see it, thereforeI’m giving this 3 stars based solely on the fact that I don’t feel many of the prompts are mindful.

A lovely addition to my morning ritual.
I have so enjoyed incorporating this journal into my morning ritual. The book includes a mixture of quotes, journal prompts and art activities that calm and center my mind while exploring exploring and reconnecting with my creative self. I love this journal so much I purchased a handful more for friends. Thank you Worthy, for creating a beautiful journal!

just received the journal today. There are a few obvious dirty marks on front cover, also black marks on the edge of cover. The content looks good, will have a try to see how it goes.
