The best
Bought same brand Warm Steam vaporizer before they seem better for colds and don’t leak water like some of the higher end ones with tanks and o rings. Have a 4 bedroom house bought 2 more for other rooms we live on Lake Huron and in the colder months it’s very dry and our throat and nasal passages dry up this one in particular does the best job in individual rooms and eases any toddler congestion. I recommend these for people with kids and everyone who wakes up with dry throat and mouth especially during cold season these are the best and work better than all the higher end ones we wasted money on. Old school is the best still imo run distilled water through them my wife has destroyed vaporizers because of our well water and had scaling mess them up which is why I bought more.

Excellent product
I bought this vaporizer because I needed something quick that actually produced good steam for my baby, and it really does the job. It heats up in just a few seconds, and the steam comes out strong and constant. It helps a lot when my baby has a cold, and the price is the best part.

Excellent for Cold Season and Easy to Use
The Vicks Warm Steam Vaporizer has been a great help in keeping the air comfortable, especially during cold and allergy season. The 1.5-gallon tank runs quietly through the night and provides steady warm mist that helps ease congestion and dry throat. The soft night light is a thoughtful touch for kids’ rooms, and I love that it works with VapoPads and VapoSteam for extra soothing relief. It’s easy to fill, simple to clean, and reliable — overall, a great choice for small to medium rooms. Highly recommended for families or anyone needing extra comfort while sleeping!

Much Better Sleep
This little humidifier is great for relieving congestion as well as making dry air much easier to breathe. I swear it also eased my dry skin! My only complaint is the amount of resources required. It hold 1.5 gallons of water, which you may or may not need to boil beforehand (hard water). It is recommended to replace the water daily. You can also buy distilled water, again costing more money. It also needs a weekly deep clean with dish soap and a quart of vinegar. Keep these things in mind when making your purchase. You can use tap water, but will notice a lot of debris at the bottom of the tank after running it overnight. If not for all the cleaning and cost of higher water bill, it would’ve gotten 5 stars.

It helps with the congestion
After having a really bad cold I used this to breathe in the vicks liquid which really helped with the congestion and made me breathe better, the steaming starts in like less than 5 minutes after adding half of 1/8 teaspoon of salt, I felt better in about a few days since using.

Best Steam vaporizer by far!!
Love the Vicks Brand, this steam vaporizer is perfect to use when you need some moisture and steam in the air. I never go without having one of these every year. Easy to clean, works for years, better than the cool mist machines in my opinion. Loosen up stuffy noses and coughs. You must keep this up high on a safe flat surface if you have children who climb and possibly touching the steam and getting burned. The water inside is extremely hot to produce the steam. The outer parts feel warm but won’t burn you, only if it gets knocked over and water comes out.Best vaporizer by far by a trusted brand.

Beats all alternatives.
Swamp type humidifiers never heat the water and are prone to dumping bacteria and mold into the air. Plus, the filter/wick tend to be expensive and need replacement fairly often.Ultrasonic humidifiers are also prone to dumping bacteria and mold into the air. But they’re far worse because they dump all water minerals into the air. A hard working ultrasonic humidifier will coat the entire room, if not the whole house, with a powdery layer of minerals everywhere. This is especially not good for any electronics, let alone breathing in all that stuff. As bad as a swamp humidifier is, ultrasonics are even worse for both your electronics, and your lungs.Boiler type of humidifiers kill any and all bacteria and mold by boiling them. It also does not put any minerals into the air. But the process is rather energy intensive. So this humidifier tends to use a lot of electricity. It’s also very noisy. And, of course, there is a small chance of getting burned by the hot mist, if you’re extremely not careful. And then there is the matter of this particular type of humidifier relying on the amount of minerals in the water to conduct electricity. Thus, the rate of vaporization depends on the mineral content – the more minerals in the water, the faster it vaporizes. This is both good and bad. It’s good that you can increase the rate by not rinsing out the reservoir. It’s bad because the reservoir can run out within just a few hours. This is why I took a 5 gallon bucket and shaped a torus out of thick styrofoam to fit it. I ditched the reservoir and inserted this humidifier into the torus. Now it floats on top of the water in the bucket. Now I have a 5 gallon reservoir that will last many hours. I still need to add water – but only about once a day… maybe a bit more often on really dry days. It’s still noisy and uses a lot of electricity. And it only lasts about one winter. So I buy a new one every year. The bucket and the stryofoam has lasted many years. The point being, I can now dump over 5 gallons of water into the air every day with minimal maintenance. And buying a new one of these humidifiers every year is roughly the equivalent of a new filter for a swamp humidifier – or less. Often much, much less. And the humidity is bacteria, virus, mold, and mineral free – just how I like the air I breathe. All while having to add nothing to the water. And I’m not having to dust my entire house every few days.I keep looking, but comparable hot steam systems seem to cost over $200 – sometimes WELL over $200. And their electricity costs are probably about the same. So this “redneck 5 gal. humidifier” I made only costs less than $20 per year (so far). Comparable systems would have to last over 10 years to justify their costs over this simple humidifier.

Not the most powerful but gets the job done for the right price
It’s pretty good. It doesn’t have a lot of steam though. It’s definitely not as powerful as some others on the market. But it gets the job done. I threw a towel over my head and sat with it for a while. The vix pads work well, too. But I’d rather just use the regular salve and put it in the cup on the lid. It’s stronger than way. All in all, worth the money. I’ve had the same humidifier in the past, and seem to remember it getting hard to clean after a while. But for now, it’s working just fine.

It works fine but do not think am NOT getting effective use of medicine cup it is not getting enough heat or able to disperse the oils I am using into the air flow just evaporatesGet better cleaning of scale by using baking soda instead of salt . . Salt builds crystals and baking soda remains scale
