Versatile and Well Built
I’ve bought these in several different weights for my home gym and as gifts for friends into fitness. They are very well made and hold up well- even though my gym is outside in Arizona. They are also quite versatile – reverse curls, straight raises, torso twists and as shoulder weight when climbing grandstand steps. They will make a nice addition to your fitness regimen.

Very versatile.
I have multiple sclerosis and my physical therapist has me use this to improve my strength, but we also use it a lot for stretching my arms. Good product!

Best exercise equipment
This is as advertised. It’s the best piece of exercise equipment I’ve bought. So versatile. I removed a star for it having tears in the neoprene.

quality bar, wait for a good price
Good quality and weight. Too expensive, but I managed to grab it on sale for less than $20.It wasn’t especially well packaged, the box was basically torn in two by the time it got to me, but the bar was undamaged, so it seems pretty durable.I am using the bar in combination with resistance bands. For certain lifts it helps to overcome the initial slackness of the bands, adding some load at the shortest bands lengths and thus tension to the full range of motion. It’s heavier than a 60 in. Olympic barbell, and obviously shorter than a full-length bar. Also, it is very thick compared to a normal bar, which I like (I frequently use fat grips on thinner bars). That said, if you have the space and already have an Olympic bar in the garage, then I would just stick with that. This is convenient for me, living in an apartment without much space for equipment. This bar is great for adding a some load to a squat or lunge. As alluded to above, can add a little load to banded curls, rows, and presses. I need to find some other uses that are unique to this type of bar.I wouldn’t pay $60 for it, but it was a bargain at less than $20.

Recommend for active rest days, older folks, or prototyping moves for heavier bars. Wipe first.
The 3-pack (10/15/20lbs) of bars came in good condition. (Note: See last paragraph of review for one minor, resolvable issue.)I have used a variety of weighted tools for exercise, and I find these 4-foot-long weighted bars uniquely useful for a more balanced, whole-body approach that works better for me than, say, one-handed dumbbells or longer/heavier barbells. I feel as though I am more balanced in my workouts when using the bar, and that I get to enjoy the exercise for longer because the weight is padded and lighter than a standard barbell.I’ve had fun listening to music or watching entire TV shows while I play around with the bars in the following ways:- Mimic paddling a kayak- Twisting while upright, pivoting foot at end of turn, bar on back- Twisting with knees bent and feet firmly planted, bar on back- Overhead pressing (fast or slow)- Letting it rest on my back while walking- Mimicking certain motions as if it were a one-handed dumbbell- Playing with hand position on simple holds for grip strength (hold in middle = easy; hold nearer to one end = much harder)I intend to discuss with older family members about whether they might integrate this tool into their own fitness-maintenance workouts given its higher safety profile (more balance, safer to drop, more padded). Older folks who are highly sedentary and in need of blood flow often are unable to get a weighted fitness regimen started, and yet, I suspect using weighted tools is better and faster for strength maintenance and blood flow because workouts can be shorter yet more stimulating. Standard barbells are often out of the question for older folks, but something like the 8-10lb range of this item should be fairly safe for even an elder user to perform actions, even with a none-too-strong caregiver or family member watching over them. Because this item is a long bar, the difficulty of exercise can be modified to an easier level such as by leaning the bar against the ground or changing the grip position. Cost considerations aside (caregiving is already expensive, but the hope is that increased physical ability via weightlifting helps to improve quality of life), even starting with 8lbs and moving to 10lbs in time represents a 25% improvement in ability. When you’re young, +2lbs is nothing, but when you’re quite old and barely able to hold yourself upright with a walker or barely able to lift the walker over an obstacle, it could be something quite important for safety or independence.Turning back toward younger users: This tool seems like a good way to start working on form in progression to higher weights (such as eventually with barbells). Even for experienced, heavy lifters, this tool also provides ways to practice form on rest days. For novice weightlifters, it offers a way to prototype motions with longer or heavier barbells. (For example, if you’ve never done overhead presses, and you start with “just the bar” which might be >40lbs, you might not yet be strong enough to safely perform the move in a fully fluid, non-jerky fashion. Yes, jerky motions do come into play with more advanced weightlifting, but as with grammar: You need to fully understand the rules before you can know when to break them and why.I decided to write a longer review that almost sounds like an advertisement because I do like this product but think it’s too expensive. I’m hopeful that if it becomes more popular, price will decrease (economies of scale or via competition). I’m not loyal to the company that makes/distributes this tool, but I am grateful this tool exists now in this form in a way that might benefit people in my life (particularly older would-be users who need to maintain strength as they age or improve bloodflow).Lastly, I want to note a temporary problem: Initial use of this item led to a powdery black coating on my hands, removed with soap and water. Before next use, I wiped each bar thoroughly with a wet paper towel, then dried, and repeated until the drying towel came away visibly clear of residue. Before cleaning: One bar was mostly clean of this residue; one bar had a moderate amount; and one bar had a significant amount of residue. After cleaning: Issue seems resolved.
