    great, simple, powerfull, love it
I recently purchased the Rack Mount Power Strips, and they have been a game-changer for my home office setup. The 8-outlet strip with individual switches is incredibly convenient, allowing me to control each outlet independently. This feature has been handy for managing my computer, printer, and other gadgets without unplugging anything.Surge protection is another standout feature. Knowing my equipment is protected from power surges and spikes, I feel much more at ease. The strip’s build quality is impressive, with sturdy construction that feels durable and reliable.Mounting the power strip was straightforward and fits perfectly in my rack setup. The generous cord length gives me plenty of flexibility in positioning it where I need it most. The design is clean and professional, blending seamlessly with my other equipment.Overall, the Rack Mount Power Strip has exceeded my expectations. Its combination of individual switches, surge protection, and solid construction makes it an essential addition to any organized workspace. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and versatile power strip.

    Way out of spec
Not only is this power strip too large to fit in a single 1U server slot, but has the mounting holes centered so that nothing can be mounted on either side of it. It is effectively 3U. The mounting holes could be drilled to shift it down/up so it only takes up 2U, but the quality is not worth the effort in my estimation.

Good Protection and Selective Power On/Off
This is a very good PDU for a 19″ rack. It allows you to selectively power on/off individual plugs. However, there is not master switch for all plugs. The unit came with everything needed including cage nuts and screws. The plug fits tight into the outlet and is flat for low profile spaces. The cord had plenty of length and is thick and durable. The PDU fit well into a 19″ rack. The unit itself is metal and feels well built and durable. You can selectively control the power to each plug individually. The rocker switches are firm and not given to accidental switching. The unit is ever so slightly larger than 1U with the rack ears slightly covering the nut for the space above. You may find that anything you put above or below the PDU will either have a slight overlap or you’ll need to leave a blank space between the PDU and anything else in the rack. In my case, I have it on the bottom with empty space above, so it doesn’t bother me yet. However, you might have an issue if you fully populate a rack.As luck would have it, we had a power surge a week after testing the unit. Everything plugged in survived the surge, no problem.Pros- Well constructed- Cable length- individual plug switches- hardware includedCons- The rack fit could be better- No master switchDefinitely worth it. However, note the sizing as it might be an issue for you. It does protect and adds convenience of selectively switching individual plugs.

Great for rack mounts whether it is cabinet or wall mount!
I have been out of the computer/network industry since 1995 and with remoldeling my home I have put in data access boxes in every room. I needed power for all the cabinet equipment for a central point and this fit my 19″ wall mount rack and works like a charm. I love the individual shutoffs for each plug!

    Well made power strip
A very well made power strip. However the screws provided to attach the mounting ears is not provided with proper screw size. As provided the head of the screws is too small and falls thru the holes in the ears. Now I need to buy washers.

    Good product
Seems rather well-built, and the switches are nice and strong. The mounting hardware seems good, but I didn’t personally need it. Powers my server and a couple switches just fine.

As a rack mount power strip, this can be used for other situations as well. It has all the accessories needed to plant it on a wall, or area where you could have it stationary. The thoughtfulness of having the bracket go both ways, makes it versatile for situations where you might want it embedded or protruding. The plastic build is robust and adequate for its purpose. The slots are little stiff, but not lose. The switches are easy to press and control the power on/off state. The extension cord feels heavy duty, and is long enough for most situations. Overall, an above average offering. This review is for the “Rack Mount Power Strips,8 Outlet Strips Surge Protector with Individual Switches, PDU Power Strip for Server Racks, 14AWG Heavy-Duty Braided Extension Cord,2700J,15A 125V 1875W (10 FT Cable)”.

I needed something to clean up multiple power bars in the area under my home office desk. It is shipped in a box, and contains instructions for use. The power strip also comes with mounting hardware, but I didn’t need to use it.When I saw this heavy-duty power strip, with surge protection and 8 outlets, each having their own individual on/off switch, I thought it would be a great solution to my problem. As you can see from the photos under my desk, I have 6 items plugged in to this power strip. The 10’ cord made this possible, as my other power bars did not have a long cord, which is why I needed 2 to plug in everything. This power strip is great, and it allowed me to stop using regular power bars that are not serge protected and amalgamate 6 peripherals into a very robust power strip. I recommend this product.

This is a somewhat decent power bar/surge protector that seems reasonably well-constructed and works just fine without issues (so far); however, it does NOT have any safety certification for the surge protector itself or the cord, which is quite disappointing to say the least although it does have one for the plug (UL E356711) so if this concerns you, look elsewhere. In addition, the shell is entirely made of plastic except for the 2 metal plates at the 2 ends (i.e. the side where the power cord is) although it’s painted to look like one and does have the appearance of being metal typically associated with higher quality power bars/surge protectors.≡ Safety note (from official gov sites)✔ Electrical products that plug into an electrical outlet must meet Canadian national safety standards and be certified by an accredited certification body.✔ Always check for certification marks, such as CSA, cUL, or cETL, before purchasing electrical products that plug into an electrical outlet. These marks indicate that the products are assessed and conform to the required Canadian national safety standard.✔ Do not buy or use electrical products that plug into an electrical outlet without a certification mark. While some people would argue that these safety certifications means little or even nothing because there are products out there with safety cert that fail to perform while others without it have performed better in comparison. I’d say that’s fallaciously misguided simply because exceptions are never to be used as supportive arguments to statements that are inherently untrue.Do you stop using seatbelts because someone died of accidents while wearing one? Is driver’s license unnecessary because more accidents are caused by those with valid licenses than not? There are countless examples I could think of but most importantly is the undisputed fact that it is the Canadian law and it’s there to minimize harm and not necessarily eliminate it. If the idea of certifications (safety or otherwise) are truly useless, then our civilization would crumble. In either case, I’d choose and support products with any of the 3 certs mentioned above any day over products that have none. The choice is of course yours, as always.###The overall build quality seems decent albeit typical of most other power bars/surge protectors of similar style and design. As a matter of fact, it’s nearly identical to a few others that I have come across and tested (several dozens) with the exception of the shell (i.e. metal vs. plastic), certification status, and the jacket of the cord (i.e. PVS vs. nylon braided) etc. Btw, metal brackets are included to mount this onto a standard 19″ rack; however, this is mounted horizontally to the metal frame at the rear of my desk so I dunno if this will actually fit a 19″ rack. It’s reasonably sized with typically spaced out outlets supporting a max of 8x AC outlets with individual power switch, which I do appreciate and that’s certainly one of the primary reasons for the order although I do expect this to have a METAL shell and a safety certification (either ETL or UL) that unfortunately this does not have.It supports a total of 8 outlets although that’s typical of power bars/surge protectors of this size/form factor. The individual power switch works just fine and there isn’t anything fancy here. Its power rating is 1875W/15A (@125V) which (again) is common for surge protectors of similar spec such as this.As aforementioned, the power bar/surge protector itself does NOT have any safety certification, which is rather disappointing; however, the plug does have a UL safety certification which is nice. The certification status of the cord cannot be determined since it’s nylon braided and I’ll assume it doesn’t have any despite the fact it claims to have 14AWG SJT cord. I wouldn’t necessarily trust a surge protector without a safety certification the same way I wouldn’t trust a medical doctor without a proper license (or even a doctorate degree), would you?Given the circumstance/choice, I would support any brand that has CSA/ETL/UL for any components (or preferably all 3) instead of one that has none. Why would anyone purchase a product to protect their electronics while the product itself isn’t even bothered to get certified to demonstrate that it’s in fact protected and safe to use? Well, I wouldn’t.≡ NoteFor those who aren’t aware, surge protection REQUIRES an indicator light and it is NOT OPTIONAL and certainly NOT just for aesthetic purposes because surge protection DOES have a lifespan.Without going unnecessary details, just know that most of the consumer grade surge protection implementations use MOV (Metal-Oxide Varistors) which is use to dissipate or consume the energy (remember, the energy has to go somewhere during a power surge, lightning strike etc) which reduces the ‘capacity’ left of the MOVs gradually and eventually it will cease to function and the surge protection indicator will be permanently OFF to let you know the surge protection has reached end of its life. Power bar will continue to work but there will be NO surge protection.###≡ ValueAll things considered, this is a somewhat decent power bar/surge protector that’s reasonably well-constructed and works just fine without issues (so far). However, the surge protector itself and the cord do NOT have any safety certification which is rather disappointing although the plug does have one (UL).In addition, it’s also disappointing to see that it has a plastic shell instead of a metal one because many others with similar design and style do have a metal shell instead. It’s a bit pricey at $70 for what it provides and its overall build quality, features, usability, and performance. Your mileage might vary.

Advertised as a 2700 joules surge protector; a rating strong enough to prevent damage to electronics, unlike average consumer power bars that make the claim but usually under 2000 joules (often 800-1500 which is insufficient). My first impression is it looks to be built heavy-duty. High quality 10-foot cable, firm switches, up to 15amps, has built-in circuit breaker. The reversible mounting plates provide flexibility for 19-inch frame-mounting; different racks sometimes need a little finesse to align into position, but nothing looks unusual. Mostly plastic casing explains the low cost since similar spec industrial rack mounts are generally priced over $100. Seems fairly good quality and value. While not a top high-end surge protector, I see no reason to deduct a star — 5/5 if it suits your needs and fits your budget.

I am using this on some electronic devices I have stashed away in a credenza that I am kind of using as a media centre/server rack. The power bar is plugged into a UPS so that the electronics can stay on in the event of a power outage. I like that this power strip has brackets so you can attach it to something, I am using the backside of the credenza. The power cored coming off the strip is nice and thick and should be able to handle the amperage fine. It is braided so it is made well and should last. Having individual switches for each outlet is pretty nice as you are able to turn off device without having to unplug them. What I find a little worrisome is that it isn’t certified. Only the plug is certified and not the actual bar. I prefer to use certified products as it gives me better peace of mind knowing the product has been properly tested for our marketplace. With that said, it doesn’t mean this product is bad. It seems to function properly but a certification would have been really nice to have. Overall it is a nice individual switched power bar with surge protection. Hopefully the surge works as it should. The rest of the bar does anyway.
