I don’t know what they were thinking taking this from thier flagship tape. Its still the best regular tape measure made. SMALL hooks, NO magnets, tape measures peaked at this model right here, unless you use those things specifically for your job.This was, is, and most likely will be, the best overall general purpose. They used to have a warrantee, well that didn’t work out so well and they should have known better. Wore out? Go to lowes, they don’t care.Durable, NOT so bendy (the standout is alot better due to lack of weight on the end).Better than a homeowner needs, unless he’s building a deck or remodeling. Its 40% off right now. Thats pretty good, this is a good price. Its a 20$ tape for sure.

Seriously I have never had a problem with anything from Stanley. Good quality,well made for the price. This tape is sturdy and has less bendability due to its width. So it holds up literally when measuring alone. Thats a keeper. Strong sprind action for retraction,with no hesitation. A good tape for sure.

Got this as a house warming gift to someone’s first apartment. THEY LOVED IT! how else are you going to measure everything you need like the space for you future couch, the side table, and even if your entry way can fit a narrow table!Only wish it had CM on one side.The quality is great! I have a cheaper one and when you stretch it out even a couple feet it starts to bend but not this Fat cat!

I’m a cabinetmaker and I’ve bought several of the tapes. I like the ease of reading. The end is prone to slipping off when measuring which drives me crazy. I’ll probably keep buying them as they no longer make my favorite tape.

Rugged, extra protective coating covering the first 3 inches where most tapes wear out first.The reason I purchased it is for the large clear markings that can be seen from a reasonable distance, AND, for a tape measure that doesn’t buckle when trying to extend it beyond my reach…EXAMPLE: I have a Stanley Powerlock 25′ 33-425… max flat extension before buckling – 7′ 6″COMPARE: Stanley FATMAX 25′ 33-725… mas flat extension before buckling – 11′ 1″Makes a huge difference when working alone! The Stanley Fatmax has a reinforced bumper material around 75% of the case, making it quiet AND it won’t break when you toss it or drop it from the top of a wall.The Tape is Steel and therefore magnets will stick to it!The case is tough feeling plastic with a lock that HOLDS.. you can hold the tape and dangle the locked case and it will not shift at all. Locking function works one-handed as shown in the video.The only steel part of the case is the belt clip, it is steel and will allow you to place the tape measure on a magnetic holding bar.Tape measure has a 3 and 1/8″ body if you are including it in your inside dimension measurements. My other Stanley tape bodies are exactly 3″Designed for Right-Handed Reading, pulling the tape with your left hand. All measurement markings are NON-metric. Imperial System Ony.Tape case width is 1 and 15/16″ not including the clip. If you have a tape pouch in your belt, this is on the thick side.An excellent coating on tape should last a long time before it wears and begins to rust.I highly recommend the Stanley 25′ FatMax Tape Measure for long-lasting accuracy. It’s quite good, the only problems I had so far were that for some reason the front part scratched up right after the first use of like 20 seconds and the other problem is that it is very addictive to play with and I just can’t stop using it because this mechanism is so satisfying! This also made me unable to sleep because it’s so addictive.

Was quite happy to find a measuring tape with both metric and imperial measurements. I don’t use it for heavy construction work so I don’t know about how durable it is, however the tape stays stiff until a bit over 2m and I’ve dropped it several times onto concrete and you can’t tell.
