An Almost Perfect Axle Bar, At An Amazing Price
The Titan Fitness 84″ Axle Bar is a fantastic value for a bargain, no frills fat bar for the home setup or possibly a small commercial gym. The bar arrived quickly (3 days, Prime), and despite the packaging being heavily damaged the bar arrived with only minor scuffs in the finish. The bar I received had the following measured specifications:Length: 84″ (just a bit under really, maybe 83.75″)Sleeve Loading Area: 15.5″ on each side, evenBetween Collars: 52″Collar Thickness: 0.5″Diameter: 1.9″Weight: 25.5 pounds*Yes, the bar is advertised as 30 pounds, but despite multiple measurements I kept coming up with 25.4-25.6 pounds on my scale. Given other dumbbells and plates I’ve weighed I’m pretty sure that 25.5 is what my bar weighs. The bar itself seems to be made out of schedule 80 steel pipe, with ~1/4″ thick walls. The bar is straight, the collars are welded on evenly and perpendicular to the bar (so plates load evenly). All of my cast Weider International Olympic plates fit with just a small amount of play (maybe 1/8″).The finish on the bar is NOT what I would call “powder coat” unless spray paint now counts as powder coating. There was one small chip on the bar that has rust started, but that is easily solved with touch up paint. The collars appear to have taken the brunt of the shipping damage with some minor paint chips, but nothing that I wouldn’t end up doing to the bar in-use anyway.UPDATE: After just a few weeks of use I’ve found that the “powder coating” (it’s paint) comes off from the sleeves pretty easily when loading Olympic plates. Both sleeves are now deeply scratched down to what appears to be the bare iron. I won’t subtract a star for this just because the sleeves probably shouldn’t have been painted in the first place. The bar has no knurling of any kind, nor does it have any placement marks (knurl rings) so you will need to figure out how to mark the bar for even hand placement. In my case, I’m going to mask off the 32″ and 36″ positions with some painters tape and hit the bar with a touch of auto primer to give me a subtle, but permanent indicator for grip. I suppose you could do the same thing with athletic or hockey tape. The bar has a 0.5″ hole drilled at each end of the bar about 1″ from the edge. This allows for easy use of carabiners to attach chains or landmine grip attachments without needing a chain collar.Overall, I think this bar is a great value for the price. You’d be hard-pressed to buy a piece of equivalent pipe from a hardware store and try to roll-your-own fat bar for much less than this. Some small improvement in the shipping materials would help prevent cosmetic damage, but other than that and possibly adding some sort of grip position indicator marks this bar is perfect.

A thick bar worth
Great bar. Using this thick bar has strengthened my grip and has taken my training to the next level.

Perfect Axle, Perfect price
Perfect Axle! No knurling(like axle should be) Fit all my drop plates and collars were not loose. Minor paint damage (but that was 100% delivery guy dropping it)

Solid bar
I think I did a review on this for my YouTube page Ironhall Gym. I’ve had this for a few years now. Solid, good bar.

Great Bar For A Great Price
Shipped quickly, arrived securely packaged. I got this bar for two reasons- I want to train my grip, and it is small enough to fit easily in my cramped home gym. The sleeves will hold enough for me- if you’re using bumper plates and lifting heroic amounts, you might want a fully-grown axle. The bar is an excellent challenge to deadlift, clean and press, and actually really comfortable to Zercher squat. My standard snapdown collars fit securely. I have several Titan Fitness products and I highly recommend them for their functionality and value.

This is a low priced perfectly adequate axle bar.
Pros: Price was low and shipping was fast for me in the Midwest. It is a 2″ bar with welded collars for lifting weight.Cons: The packaging was very cheap and looked like it had been chewed on in transit. But the bar was fine minus some minor paint chips.Overall, You do get what you pay for here. May need some paint in a years time if that type of thing is important to you. But for most home gym use it should last a good while. If you are loading big weight and dropping the bar often I would opt for a more robust solution. But for the guys or gals just grinding in the garage gym it will work well for the price.

This is the bar I’ve been searching for!!!
I love the size. This bar just feels badass to workout with! The wide grip adds a great dynamic to my bench & forearm workouts. The extended sleeve lets me load up weight plus my bent over row attachment for an awesome landmine workout. At almost 30 lbs, the bar alone makes for great standing row/overhead press shoulders & arms sets. Plus there are carabiner holes on both ends to hang chains for an extra challenging squat session. This is a great bar for every home gym!

EXCELLENT 5 FOOT AXLE BAR
I’m very happy with the quality of the bar. It was shipped in protective packaging and received in excellent condition. The bar is quite thick, no knurling, so getting a good grip is challenging.More care is needed when trying to clean the bar to your chest and lifting it overhead. I added grip tape and that helped with the grip issue. For sure, use a light weight at first to determine how well you can successfully use this bar. Also, this bar does not have bushings or ball bearings like traditional olympic bars, so there is no spinning/rotation, which makes it more challenging to clean it to your chest and maintain a good grip. The thick bar is challenging and concerning, especially, if you don’t have large hands. I am getting more comfortable using this bar and I am happy with my purchase.Update: after using this bar for sometime now, grip is no longer a concern. I use this bar on a regular basis and it’s one of my favorite bars to use. I changed my rating to 5 stars from 4 stars.
